A better day. Cleaning helped lift my mood, swelling is settling, and hydration becomes the focus. Still leaning toward more in future — and honestly, the process so far has been unexpectedly enjoyable.

Hi I’m ᗷIOᑎIᑕᗷEᗩᖇᑌK, a fifty-year-old gay man, product manager, technology enthusiast, science fiction fan, and proud leather bear. After losing my partner, living through significant trauma, and facing depression, anxiety, and hidden disability, I’ve found myself on a journey of healing and rediscovery. The “ᗷIOᑎIᑕ” comes from my two artificial hips, but it’s also become a reminder that we’re all capable of rebuilding.

This blog is my safe space.

Much of what I write is deeply personal and reflects how I experienced a moment, not an attempt to define someone else’s intentions or tell the whole story. If my experiences help someone else feel a little less alone—or simply encourage a moment of reflection—then sharing them has been worthwhile.

Sometimes people may recognise themselves, or believe a post is about them. If you do, I simply ask that you read it with kindness and keep it to yourself. These posts are not written to blame, shame or hurt anyone. They are part of my own healing, helping me understand my thoughts and feelings in a way that words spoken aloud often cannot.

Thank you for giving me the space to do that.
