From “What the Hell” to “Alright Then” – Day Three

Day three, and this feels like a good moment to zoom out a bit and talk about what actually happens next — because right now things still look… a bit wild 😅

The bruising is still doing its thing, the swelling is definitely still there, but I knew this was coming. The important thing I keep reminding myself is: this isn’t the final result. Not even close. This is just the “in progress” version.

So here’s the rough roadmap I’ve been given, in normal human terms:

  • Day 0, Procedure

  • Day 3, Settling Begins

  • Week 1, Early Recovery

  • Week 2, ‘Normal Operations’ resume

  • Week 3, Massage Phase

  • Week 6, Final Result

First couple of days (0–48 hours)
This is peak chaos. Swelling, bruising, everything looking way bigger than it’s going to be long-term. Basically: don’t panic, wear something loose, and behave yourself.

Days 3–7 (where I am now)
Things start to calm down a bit. Still bruised, still a bit swollen, but you can see the direction things are heading. Less “what the hell is happening” and more “ok, I see it.”

Week 1–2
This is where things start feeling normal again. Most of the swelling should be gone, and life carries on as usual. There are still rules… but it’s less restrictive.

Week 2–3 (massage time)
This is apparently where I become very hands-on (in a strictly medical sense 😇). Daily massage to keep everything smooth and even. Think of it as shaping rather than fixing.

Week 4–6
This is the finish line. Everything settles, integrates, and what’s left is the actual result — the one that sticks.

I’ll keep coming back to this over the next few weeks so I can see where I am without second-guessing everything.Right now? Early recovery. Still a bit dramatic visually, but starting to settle. It’s very much a “trust the process” phase.

More to come as things calm down and take shape.
